To search for a frame by its properties
- Open Network Monitor.
- If prompted, select the local network from which you want to capture data by default.
- Do one of the following:
- On the File menu, click Open, and then double-click a saved capture file to open it.
- On the Capture menu, click Start, and then click Stop and View when you are done capturing frames.
- On the Display menu, click Find Next Frame.
- In the Find Frame Expression dialog box, do one of the following:
- To search for a frame on the basis of its source or destination address, open and complete the Address tab.
- To search for a frame on the basis of the protocols that were used to send it, open and complete the Protocol tab.
- To search for a frame on the basis of protocol properties, open and complete the Property tab.
- To begin searching for the expression displayed near the top of the dialog box, click OK.
- To find the next frame that has the specified properties, on the Display menu, click Repeat Find Next Frame.
- To find the previous frame that has the specified properties, on the Display menu, click Repeat Find Previous Frame.

- Network Monitor runs with reduced access in which administrative privileges have been removed. If you receive an Access Denied message when you follow this procedure, add your user name to the permissions list of the file or folder that you want to access. If the property is found, the frame automatically expands to display the property that you specified in your search.
- The search remains active until you close the active window or begin a new search.
